Graphic Monkeyishness was the result of a creative writing/experimental typography course Design as Writing at Aalto University by Arja Karhumaa. The zine is titled after a jibe by Beatrice Warde in her book of esseys The Crystal Goblet. In this humorous pairing of words, used as a warning against the dangers of wild and experimental typography, I finally found the language to describe my own practice.
